Lama Island

Day trip to Lama Island with Joanne and Lorraine! It was a gorgeous day where we saw fishing villages and some floating villages, ate the best seafood I have had in my whole life and went hiking up some of Hong Kong's beautiful hills. Overall an amazing day!

On a boat on our way to Lama Island!

Such a gorgeous day - I love the clouds
(so get used ready for lots of sky pictures...)

Again, so pretty!

Hong Kong has a ton of cargo ships passing through

Tiny little islands

First sighting of Lama!
(I might move here, although the ferry stops running at 11pm)

Fishing Village

Small village on south side of Lama

I loved this guy in the boat.
He put on a show for everyone by pretending to be working hard...

By making "business calls."
Yeah, he's on a cellphone right now

Still being awesome

Dock on the island

I mean....should I be surprised?

Little village

Fishing boats...where our lunch would be coming from

Welcome!

Town

Hilarious...reminds me of someone I know

Joanne and Lorraine waiting for our lunch

The restaurant we ate at...and the fish we chose from

Measuring the price of our meal with some old fashioned scale thing

What we picked - fish, scampi and crab...

AH! Looks scary, but was actually delicious.
(I ate the cheek amongst other things)

YUM!

Bean curd

The serving pots of bean curd and the chef

Lorraine and Joanne about to enjoy dessert

Banana trees = tropical paradise!

Papaya Trees

Pretty clouds

The three of us on our hike

AMAZINGGG!

Everything in Hong Kong needs to be captured in a panorama

And with people!

Even the factory looks pretty here

As we came down the mountain...we hit the beach!!!

I wish I had brought a bathing suit

Unbelievable

Even the rocks are pretty

Yeah, thats the lifeguard

A canal that was being dug to the coast

The men hard at work on the digging

Working well

umm...duh

Ok, almost done with the beach pictures...but seriously....how amazing is this?

Joanne...being Joanne

View from a pavilion about 50% along the way overlooking the other fishing village

I don't know what this is...but it looks cool

HUGE spider that scared us and other tourists

Legit boat, check out the awesome flag

Apparently how to collect Jack fruit

Jack fruit the "king of the fruits"
(according to "Jack" Shin Park)

View from the north beach

Its hard to see, but there is a lady collecting crabs in the water

Floating fishing village

Amazing

The village on the north side of the island

and again

More fishing village

and closer still

Beach

Covered boats - people actually sleep on these

Fishing village, from a boat

The boat we take back to HK Island

and the fish that were unloaded as we boarded....they tried to bite me

Lama as we leave

Looks like a change in the weather....please no more black rain

Family outing...
don't worry, they were going to fast for me to kidnap that kid

The many asian drinks we sampled in the village
(The one on the left is homemade tea, put back into a water bottle...)

Joanne..."falling" into the water

Lorraine and I safely on-board...without Joanne
(just kidding, we didn't leave her)

so many boats

North side of Lama

Goodbye village

Goodbye Lama!
